Music Theatre of Connecticut was founded in 1987 by Directors Kevin Connors and Jim Schilling. MTC's professional mainstage company has presented 10 seasons of critically-acclaimed productions, including new works and buried treasures of the American musical theatre. Productions presented at MTC have been nominated for Best Musical of the Connecticut theatre season and several others have gone on to have successful productions in New York and at other regional houses. MTC is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization. 1982

Kevin Connors' "MTC’S College-Bound in the Performing Arts" is a must for students and their families interested in pursuing an acting or musical theatre degree path in college! MTC College Program Alumni have been accepted into the top Performing Arts Programs in the country including NYU, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Boston Conservatory, Northwestern University, University of Michigan, Syracuse University, Emerson College, Muhlenberg College, Ithaca College, and Otterbein College. MTC boasts a 98% placement rate for BA and BFA degree programs and has developed personal relationships with more than 25 theatre departments.
